I respectfully disagree, Dana. A loss would mean that Ben Franklin had it right when he said...
"A republic, if you can keep it."
This occurred shortly after a woman asked Franklin what kind of government the delegates had created. The quote highlights the fragility of democracy and the constant need for citizens to be vigilant in their defense.
Democracy is being attacked by the world's most effective con man and inveterate liar. A Trump victory would confirm democracy's fragility, Dana, not that it was a "crock."
Let's hope that enough citizens successfully repel Trump's assault.
Much appreciated, very good take. But the current situation reminds me of 1980, when a very worthy President was fired by the electorate, although the new guy was a reactionary old cold-warrier whose main success up to then was starring in some third-rate movies. Folks hate, just hate inflation. They don't understand it, so they don't comprehend that Trump's economic policies are actually highly inflationary. They just want to get back to 2018, before Covid, before inflation, i.e. the good old days.
Voters all over the world in 2024 are all abandoning the incumbants. It would be quite unusual for Harris to win if the Repubs had a halfway decent candidate. With Trump, it's still a coin toss.

Dana, you know I read this. I hope you are correct. I have been working my precinct pretty hard
