You're right. Not every small business has yet mastered the early 21st century. At this point it's a choice. There are several good systems designed specifically for the practice.

My massage place has NOT "mastered the tech of 10 years ago"; they don't understand search priority order. Place like that, my first -- and major -- criterion is massage therapist I want. But I can't search on that first -- I must pick a date, see if she's available. That's too much work, so I call to make appointments. If I could see when she's available, I'd pick dates/times. So they wasted effort setting up the appointment system and don't save staff time. Massage therapists agree, of course -- so the system annoys customers and staff.
