Maybe it's because I started riding in Houston over 40 years ago, but I found Peachtree the best way north because it was a two-way street. Yes, north of the connector it gets very wide and the hills there are pretty nasty. But I did it several times on long Sunday rides. It's just sad that I'm now 67 and can't do long Sunday rides anymore. But I'm working toward it.

I looked up my Facebook post from Sept 2013:

"Riding a bike up Peachtree Ave in Atlanta, GA to Buckhead is one of daftest things I have done in many years. Not only do the drivers not seem to know what this thing with two wheels is (they keep honking and shouting), but it's the hottest part of the day at around 90. Sweating buckets!"

I rented the bike in Piedmont Park and Atlanta was by far the worst city for riding a bicycle I had been in. Hopefully it is getting better, but it sounds like there are still big challenges.

All the best from the UK!
